Meditation

What is meditation? Becoming one with the soul.
It means banishing the consciousness of being related to the body
and to human limitations and trying to remember one is a soul…

— Paramahansa Yogananda

Basic instructions on how to meditate can be found on the Self-Realization Fellowship website, which you can use right away to begin experiencing the peace and communion with the Divine that meditation brings. Follow these links:

Considered by yoga experts as the “Father of Yoga in the West”, Paramahansa Yogananda pioneered the modern-day yoga movement and introduced the ancient spiritual science of Kriya Yoga meditation to the United States in 1920.

The science of yoga meditation (Kriya Yoga) teaches techniques of controlling the life energy consciously, enabling one to disconnect the mind at will from the intrusion of the senses. This produces not an unconscious oblivion, but a blissful transference of identity from the false reality of the body and sensory world to the truth of one’s being, the supernal soul made in God’s image.

If you could feel even a particle of divine love,
so great would be your joy — so overpowering —
you could not contain it.

— Paramahansa Yogananda
